Privacy Policy

Effective Date: February 18, 2026 | Last Updated: February 18, 2026

Overview

The Breaker is an educational password security tool built with privacy as a core principle. This policy explains our approach to data handling.

Data Collection

We collect zero data.

The Breaker does not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal information or user data. This includes:

  • Passwords you test in the app
  • Analysis results or history
  • Device identifiers or usage analytics
  • Location data
  • Contact information
  • Any other personal information

How Password Analysis Works

All password testing happens entirely on your device:

  • Local Processing: The analysis engine runs locally using native Swift code
  • No Network Requests: No internet connection is required or used for password testing
  • No Storage: Passwords are held in device memory only during active analysis and are immediately discarded when analysis completes
  • No Logging: The app does not create logs or cache files containing passwords or results

Third-Party Services

The Breaker does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The app uses only Apple's native frameworks:

  • SwiftUI (user interface)
  • Foundation (core functionality)
  • Combine (reactive programming)
  • CoreHaptics (haptic feedback)
  • AVFoundation (sound generation)

App Store and Apple Services

When you download The Breaker from the App Store, Apple may collect standard information as outlined in their privacy policy. We do not have access to this information.

App updates are delivered through Apple's infrastructure. We cannot access your device or track app installations.

ForgeKey Integration

The Breaker includes promotional content for our companion app ForgeKey. Tapping these promotions opens the App Store or ForgeKey app if installed. No data is shared between The Breaker and ForgeKey.

Permissions

The Breaker does not request any device permissions including:

  • Camera or photo library access
  • Location services
  • Contacts or calendar
  • Microphone
  • Notifications (unless you explicitly enable them in iOS Settings)

Children's Privacy

The Breaker is rated 16+ and does not knowingly collect data from users of any age, including children under 13.

Data Security

Since we don't collect data, there is no user data to secure on our servers. Your password tests remain private on your device and are never transmitted elsewhere.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal data:

  • There is no data to request access to
  • There is no data to request deletion of
  • There is no data to port or transfer

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will post the new version here with an updated "Last Updated" date. Material changes will be communicated through the App Store update notes.

Open Source

The password analysis algorithm is based on publicly available security research standards. You can review how the app works by examining the code behavior during use.
